About MindRank IQ
A free cognitive test built on open psychometric data — no paywalls, no premium PDFs, no email gate.
What this site is
MindRank IQ is a free, browser-based intelligence assessment. You answer 25 questions drawn from five cognitive categories — pattern recognition, numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, spatial reasoning, and logical deduction — and you receive an immediate score and a category breakdown. The composite score is calibrated to a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, the standard scaling used by virtually every modern IQ instrument.
Why we built it
Most free online IQ tests are upsell funnels. You answer questions, you see a progress bar, and at the end you are told that your full result is locked behind a thirty-dollar 'premium PDF' and a 'personalized certificate.' We built MindRank IQ because the alternative — a clean, free test that simply tells you the result — was harder to find than it should have been.
Where the items come from
The item families on this site are modeled after the public-domain pools used in academic research, especially the Open Source Psychometrics Project's FSIQ test and the International Cognitive Ability Resource (ICAR) item bank. Where direct ingestion of those pools was not feasible, we generated original items in the same style and verified them against standard item-writing rules: a single defensible answer, plausible distractors, no cultural shibboleths, and no items that depend on a specific outside knowledge base.
How we make money
We display banner advertising on a small number of slots per page, marked in the source as ADSENSE_HEADER, ADSENSE_IN_CONTENT, ADSENSE_SIDEBAR, and ADSENSE_FOOTER. We do not require an account. We do not collect your email. We do not sell results. If you would prefer the experience without ads, install your favorite content blocker — we will not break.
What this site is not
MindRank IQ is not a clinical assessment. It does not produce a result that should be used for diagnosis, employment screening, or any purpose with legal weight. If you need a clinical-grade IQ score, see a licensed psychologist who can administer a supervised, full-length instrument such as the WAIS-IV or the Stanford-Binet.
Who built it
MindRank IQ is built and maintained by a small independent team of writers and engineers with backgrounds in cognitive science and software. We do not have a venture round to chase, which is partly why the test is free and the result is not behind a paywall. If you have feedback, the contact page works.
